The Ukrnafta JSC and the UkrGasVydobuvannya JSC, part of the Naftogaz Group, have jointly completed drilling a gas well at one of Ukrnafta's fields, with an actual well depth of 5,681 meters
This is said in a statement by the Naftogaz Group, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Maintaining our own gas production is one of the key priorities of Naftogaz in the face of constant enemy shelling. An additional 8 new wells are planned for 2026 in this cooperation. The synergy between the Group's companies allows us to use resources more efficiently and accelerate the implementation of projects that give a concrete result," said Serhii Koretskyi, CEO of the Naftogaz Group.
The report says that the project was the first practical step in the development of internal cooperation within the Group to increase natural gas production in Ukraine.
Within its framework, the UkrGasVydobuvannya JSC provided drilling of the well with its own drilling rigs, and the Ukrnafta JSC is responsible for further development and operation of the facility.
It is noted that the well development stage is currently underway.
The drilling rig will be used to drill further wells at Ukrnafta's fields.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2025, the largest oil producer Ukrnafta increased oil production by 3.8% and gas production by 2.9%.
