In 2025, the largest oil producing company, Ukrnafta, increased oil production by 3.8% and gas production by 2.9%.
This is announced in the company's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that in 2025, the company drilled 25 new wells, which is 2.5 times higher than in 2024 (10 wells).
It is noted that this is a record figure in recent years.
Of these, 7 wells were built by the company's own forces, which indicates an increase in internal production capabilities.
Until 2023, the pace of new drilling remained minimal - an average of 1-2 wells per year.
After the company was transferred to state management, drilling volumes began to grow steadily, namely: 2023 - 6 wells; 2024 - 10 wells (+67%); 2025 - 25 wells (+150%).
In fact, in 2025, the same number of wells were built as in the entire period of 2015-2022.
In parallel, the company's own drilling volumes are also growing: in 2023 - 6,188 m; in 2024 - 11,082 m (+79%); in 2025 - 18,994 m (+71%).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, Ukrnafta increased oil production by 0.6% to 1.418 million tons compared to 2023 (2023 - 1.410 million tons).
In November 2022, shares of Motor Sich, Ukrnafta, AvtoKrAZ, Zaporizhtransformator (ZTR) and Ukrtatnafta were alienated into state ownership for the period of martial law.
After its end, the assets may be returned to the owners or their value will be reimbursed.
