An Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf arrived in the Pakistani capital Islamabad for talks with the US.
This was reported by the CNN portal.
As noted, Ghalibaf is accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, as well as some members of parliament.
Literally from Iranian media publications: "If the opposing side accepts Iran's preliminary conditions for starting talks, these talks will begin."
The Iranian delegation in Islamabad was received by several Pakistani officials, including Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The ministry expressed "the hope that the parties will interact constructively" and advocated for achieving "a lasting and sustainable solution to the conflict."
As reported, the Iranian army said it would not give up the Strait of Hormuz, over which it has established control.
US President Donald Trump said that Iran has no leverage, except for a short-term closure of sea routes.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Trump said that he would find out within 24 hours whether an agreement with Iran could be reached.
