Ukraine is preparing a meeting in a trilateral format or with US representatives and is finalizing key issues of security guarantees. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Novyny.Live publication reported on Thursday, April 9.
Zelenskyy said that the negotiation process is ongoing, Ukraine is preparing the next meeting.
"The cessation of the war and peace in Ukraine is the number one issue and task for me, for our negotiating group, for Ukraine as a whole. Today we are in a trilateral process of various agreements. Due to the war in the Middle East, we have a postponement," Zelenskyy said.
At the last online meeting with US representatives, it was agreed that there would be a trilateral meeting in the near future or that an American group would come to Ukraine and then go to russia, the head of state stressed. Currently, the security guarantees are being finalized, which were fully prepared, but there were no answers to key questions, Zelenskyy said. According to him, the main issues are financing the Ukrainian army, the transfer of air defense systems to Ukraine, and the response of the US and European partners to a russian invasion if it happens again.
