Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called US Vice President JD Vance's trip to Budapest on the eve of the elections in Hungary "useless".
He said this in the podcast "The Rest is Politics" with Alastair Campbell, quoted by The Guardian.
Zelenskyy briefly commented on Vance's visit to Budapest on April 7-8 to campaign for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán as "useless".
At the same time, he added that he has no intention of interfering in Sunday's elections, because it is the Hungarian people who should decide which party to support. Recall that parliamentary elections will be held in the country on April 12.
During a trip around the country a few days before Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will run for a sixth term, while losing in the polls to his opponent Péter Magyar, Vance touched on several key topics of the current Hungarian Prime Minister's election campaign.
In addition, Vance spoke in Budapest about the russian-Ukrainian war and called the confrontation over the territory of Ukraine "bargaining for a few square kilometers" and called on the parties to make concessions.
Zelenskyy also noted in the podcast that Donald Trump's team could not "really understand the details of what russia wants." In addition, the United States ignores evidence of russia's assistance to Iran because it trusts russian dictator vladimir putin.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Vance also accused "certain elements" in Ukrainian special services of interfering in the elections in the United States and Hungary.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urged not to overestimate the statements of US Vice President JD Vance regarding Kyiv's alleged interference in the electoral processes in Hungary and the United States. This was stated by the spokesman for the foreign ministry, Heorhii Tykhyi, at a press conference.
