Gas stations interested in reducing fuel prices and express their readiness to do so - AMCU

Fuel station operators are interested in reducing fuel prices and have expressed their readiness to do so. The chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU), Pavlo Kyrylenko, has said on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Kyrylenko noted that on March 9, the AMCU began consideration of the case on fuel price increases, within which it has already collected and analyzed information on the rapid and significant price increases. In addition, the AMCU held consultations with the government and working meetings with key players in the light oil market - Ukrnafta, OKKO, WOG, AMIS, UPG.

"Without exception, all gas station operators note that sales volumes and, accordingly, profitability have significantly decreased, so they are interested in reducing prices and have expressed their readiness to do so," he said.

According to Kyrylenko, the AMCU has not yet recorded evidence of collusion among market participants to raise fuel prices expects fuel prices to fall in Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko expects fuel prices to decrease in Ukraine.
