Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko expects fuel prices to fall in Ukraine. Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Svyrydenko also spoke about a meeting with the chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine regarding the current situation on the world oil and oil products markets.
"We are recording a decline in quotations on major exchanges, which should directly affect fuel prices in Ukraine. The state-owned Ukrnafta filling station network has already responded and started to reduce prices. If the current global dynamics continue, we expect a more significant reduction. We expect a similar reaction from other market participants," she said.
Svyrydenko emphasized that the market should respond fairly to changes in the price environment.
"The situation with fuel availability is stable. In March, the record supply volumes for the last 5 years were provided. The same dynamics will be maintained in April," she said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, from March 20 to May, the government introduced partial compensation for fuel purchased at gas stations under the National Cashback program for Ukrainians: 15% for diesel, 10% for gasoline, and 5% for autogas. According to the Ministry of Economy, this will save from UAH 2 to 11 per liter.
