The losses of the army of the aggressor country russia as a result of offensive actions in the Donetsk Region since the beginning of this year have almost tripled compared to 2025. Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Pavlo Palisa said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, according to the results of the first quarter of this year, the average daily losses of the occupiers in the area from the Lyman to Oleksandrivka axes amounted to 316 soldiers killed and wounded.
Last year, an average of 120 people were killed and wounded daily in the Donetsk Region. In the Pokrovsk sector - which became the main focus of russian attacks - enemy losses amounted to about 160 killed and wounded daily.

"That is, if we compare the directions of the main attack last year and today, the growth is almost twofold. And their average losses on the contact line in the Donbas have almost tripled," Palisa said.
The deputy head of the President's Office noted that the occupiers are having little success in the Donetsk Region. They have some tactical successes, but they are minimal. As for successes at the operational level, there are none at all.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 6, the Finnish OSINT project Black Bird Group reported, citing an analysis of the russian army's advance, that the occupiers' spring offensive has not yet brought them significant success.
As a reminder, on April 5, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that since the end of January, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have liberated 480 square kilometers of territory in the south.
