A russian Volgo-Balt-type dry cargo ship has allegedly sank in the Sea of Azov as a result of a drone attack. Two crew members were killed in the incident, and nine others managed to escape.
This is evidenced by the reports of the head of the occupation administration of the Kherson Region Volodymyr Saldo and the state media of the aggressor country of the russian federation, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
On Sunday, April 5, Saldo wrote on his Telegram channel that the Volgo-Balt ship, which was carrying a cargo of wheat, sank in the Sea of Azov. The surviving crew members got to the coast of the occupied part of the Kherson Region in a rescue capsule.
"Nine crew members, citizens of the Russian Federation, were found on the shore. One person, born in 1991 (senior assistant captain), died," the collaborator said.
According to him, local residents were the first to help the sailors. They met the victims and stayed with them until the arrival of emergency services.
Saldo also published photos of the boat and the sailors themselves.

Russian propaganda agency TASS reports that the Volgo-Balt cargo ship sank allegedly as a result of an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle.
The vessel was located north of Kerch in the occupied Crimea. The agency claims that the ship sank 300 miles (almost 483 kilometers) from Kerch. This is probably a mistake, as the maximum length of the Sea of Azov is about 380 kilometers and the width is 200 kilometers.
Sources in the operational services cited by TASS added that two crew members of the bulk carrier were killed. Nine people were evacuated by a capsule boat and reached the shore in the russian-controlled part of the Kherson Region.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, last Friday, April 3, a russian Su-30 fighter jet crashed in the occupied Crimea. According to the russian Defense Ministry, the plane was conducting a training flight and crashed due to a technical malfunction. The crew survived.
And on March 31, in the west of Crimea, an An-26 transport plane crashed with 6 crew members and 23 russian servicemen on board. As it became known later, the crash of the An-26 killed Alexander Otroshchenko, Lieutenant General of the russian Northern Fleet.
