Iran made a cynical statement about the strikes near the Bushehr nuclear power plant, emphasizing the threat of radiation to the population of the Gulf countries. Tehran also drew parallels to the attacks on the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated this, leaving a corresponding post on X.
"Remember the Western outrage about hostilities near Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine? Israel-U.S. have bombed our Bushehr plant four times now," Araghchi wrote.
He also made a manipulative statement about the threat of radiation spreading to the Gulf countries in the event of strikes on the Bushehr NPP.
"Radioactive fallout will end life in GCC capitals, not Tehran. Attacks on our petrochemicals also convey real objectives," the Iranian foreign minister said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier noted, Iranian negotiators rejected the US proposal for peace talks.
