Former US Presidential Special Envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg said that the current security system, in particular NATO, may need to be revised, and instead it is worth considering the creation of new military alliances with the participation of allies, including Ukraine.

He said this on Fox News.

According to Kellogg, the United States could theoretically use the Article 13 mechanism to withdraw from the Alliance, giving its partners a year's notice.

He also suggested the idea of forming new defense alliances with countries that are willing to take a more active role in security issues.

"To redesign the defense structures that we have, maybe create them with Japan and Australia, as well as with some of those European countries that are ready to go to war, such as a new, re-engaged Germany or Poland. Or even Ukraine, which has also proved to be a good ally," Kellogg said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that after the end of the military operation in Iran, the United States "will have to" reconsider its relations with NATO.

Meanwhile, the NATO chief is traveling to Washington amid Trump's threats to withdraw from the Alliance.
