The kremlin has expressed skepticism about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's idea of an Easter truce in the fighting, saying it has not seen detailed proposals and prefers a general peace agreement instead.
It was reported by Reuters.
The russian dictator vladimir putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov made it clear that moscow is skeptical of the idea when asked about the Ukrainian President's proposal.
"In Zelenskyy's statements that we have read, we have not seen any clearly formulated initiative for an Easter truce," Peskov told reporters.
Putin's spokesman argues that the Ukrainian President must make a decision to achieve peace in the war started by the aggressor state russia, not just a truce.
Peskov also continued with a threat that the longer Zelenskyy delays, the higher the price of peace will be for Ukraine.
We will remind, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with journalists on March 30 said that Ukraine supports any ceasefire formats, in particular for the Easter holidays.
Additionally, Zelenskyy said earlier that the Ukrainian side is ready to negotiate a peaceful settlement of the russian-Ukrainian war at the level of the leaders of the countries. Meanwhile, russia, he said, is seeking an ultimatum solution with the withdrawal of troops from the territories controlled by Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.
