Ukraine officially apologizes to the residents of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania in connection with the incidents that occurred last week when Ukrainian drones flew into the territory of these countries. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi announced this to Delfi in a commentary.

According to him, the Ukrainian side has conducted a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the events and is currently in constant contact with the Baltic partners to coordinate further actions.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that the flight of the aircraft was not intentional.

"Ukraine has never directed and could not have directed drones toward the Baltic states," Tykhyi said, explaining that in some cases the drones' deviation from the course was caused by russian electronic warfare systems. Thus, the incidents were a direct consequence of the ongoing russian aggression, which creates security threats throughout the region.

Tykhyi emphasized that Ukraine sincerely apologizes to its friends in the Baltic States for these events and assures them of the absence of any hostile intentions. He also added that Kyiv and its Baltic allies share a common understanding of the root cause of such threats.

"I assure you that we and our Baltic allies share the conviction that these incidents and threats faced by all our countries have one cause: Russian aggression against Ukraine," he said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 30, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had a conversation with his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb. One of the topics was the downing of Ukrainian UAVs in Finland.

On Sunday, March 29, at least two Ukrainian UAVs entered Finnish airspace. Because of this, the Finnish military took F/A-18 Hornet fighters into the air.
