President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he knows about ten enterprises for the production of drone interceptors that were built without state participation in different countries of the world.
He said this during a conversation with journalists, quoted by Interfax-Ukraine, UNIAN, LIGA.net.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian drone manufacturers declare that they risk losing export opportunities, but some of their actions, as he noted, harm this process.
The President gave an example when one company, which has a state contract for EUR 300 million, sold a thousand interceptors to one of the countries for USD 3.5 million.
He specified that Ukraine is capable of producing up to two thousand drones per day; however, funding currently allows for the production of only a thousand.
According to the President, after the sale, the buyer country turned to Ukraine due to the lack of warheads in the purchased drones, since the explosive is in service with the Ukrainian military.
Zelenskyy also reported that similar cases occurred in other European countries, where interceptors were supplied without warheads, after which the Ukrainian side was asked to provide operators.
"10-year strategic-level contracts have already been signed with three Middle Eastern countries. I will not say for what amount - billions, not millions, for our exporters. Everyone will earn, Ukraine will earn. We will not lose, because we will control that there is enough left for our fighters," Zelenskyy said.
Recall that Ukraine is ready to transfer its interceptor drones to partners from the Middle East to combat Iranian Shahed strike drones in exchange for missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also instructed to prepare and send Ukrainian specialists to the Middle East to assist the US in countering Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones.
