US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that there are no decisions on redirecting weapons purchased for Ukraine under the PURL program.

This was reported by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

According to Sybiha, the corresponding position was voiced during the G7 Foreign Ministers' Summit with Rubio's participation. He clarified that this concerns weapons and resources designated for Ukraine that were not transferred to other directions.

"It was stated at the level of Secretary of State Rubio - nothing was redirected from this program to other geographical areas and from those funds, from that equipment that is intended for Ukraine. As of now, there are no plans for redirection," Sybiha said in an interview with Ukrinform.

The minister also reported on additional agreements on expanding the program: according to him, Ukraine has received confirmation of its further replenishment, including contributions from another country.

What is the PURL program?

The PURL program (Priority Needs List of Ukraine) provides for the purchase of American-made weapons in the United States by NATO partners with subsequent transfer to Ukraine.

Recall that the Washington Post article stated that the US Department of War is considering the possibility of redirecting weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East, as the war in Iran is depleting the reserves of some of the most important ammunition of the American armed forces.

At the same time, Donald Trump stated that the US has large reserves of ammunition, including in other countries, and sometimes takes from one place and uses it for others, thus commenting on the report that the Pentagon is considering the possibility of redirecting weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East.
