US President Donald Trump said that the United States has large stockpiles of ammunition, including in other countries, and sometimes take from one place and use it for others, thus commenting on the report that the Pentagon is considering the possibility of redirecting weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East.

He said this during a conversation with journalists at a government meeting.

"We do it all the time. We have huge stockpiles of ammunition. They are stored in other countries, for example, in Germany and throughout Europe. We have a lot of them. Sometimes we take from one stockpile and use them for others. We help Ukraine," he said.

Trump also mentioned the PURL initiative: "Now we're selling it to NATO. We're selling it to NATO, and they're probably giving it to Ukraine, mostly, I think, they're giving it to Ukraine. But we're getting paid for everything we're giving, we're not just giving it away anymore."

As a reminder, The Washington Post reported that the US Department of War is considering redirecting weapons destined for Ukraine to the Middle East, as the war in Iran is depleting the US military's stock of some of its most important munitions.

The US President stressed that the situation with Ukraine is very complex, and the US is working hard to resolve it.

"In fact, for that matter, we sell a lot of equipment for this unfortunate war. Last month, 25,000 people were killed (on both sides, according to Trump - ed.), mostly soldiers. Some in the cities, but mostly soldiers. Nobody has seen anything like it since World War II. It's a terrible situation, and hopefully it will eventually be resolved," he added.

The US President continued, as he had noted before, by saying that he had "solved eight wars," and many of them were more difficult than the russian-Ukrainian one. But, he said, between russian dictator vladimir putin and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "there is a tremendous hatred."

"I've seen this before, but probably not on this scale. And I think the situation is calming down a little," Trump emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Trump previously stated that the war in Ukraine is not a US war in response to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's statement that the war in Iran does not concern Europe.

On March 23, Politico, citing EU sources, reported that European leaders fear US President Donald Trump's refusal to support Ukraine because of the war in Iran.

Meanwhile, the US President said that Iran is eager to make a deal but is "afraid to say it" for fear of being killed.
