During the drone attack on the morning of March 29, passenger train No. 096 on the Rakhiv-Kyiv route was forced to make an emergency stop near Fastiv due to an imminent threat from the air. This was reported by a Ukrainian News Agency correspondent from the scene.

Passengers were taken out of the cars to ensure safety at 10:40 am, since, according to eyewitnesses, the sound of the enemy Shahed engine flying nearby was clearly audible.

One of the train passengers reported that most people quickly moved away from the railway tracks and hid in the nearby forest, while very few people remained directly near the cars. A witness to the incident also released photos from the scene of the forced stop, confirming the evacuation of passengers to a safe zone.

"Most people really went into the forest, very few [remained - ed.] just near the trains," Mykola, who was on this train, told Ukrainian News Agency.

The situation began to stabilize only closer to noon, when the threat from the air was finally removed. At 11:12 am, passengers began to be allowed back into the cars to continue their journey.

Currently, railway officials are clarifying the updated schedule of the train's arrival in the capital and the condition of passengers after a long stop.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, due to the increasing risks of attacks on railway infrastructure, Ukrzaliznytsia has strengthened security measures and developed a clear algorithm of actions for passengers in case of a threat during a flight.
