Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky said that Israel is ready to continue the military operation on its own if the United States withdraws from the process. He said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
During the conversation, Brodsky was asked whether Israel would be able to continue the operation on its own if Washington changes its approach or withdraws from this story.
"Israel is ready to do everything to protect its security and achieve its goals. We did it without the United States, we did it with the United States, and we will do it afterwards," the Ambassador said.
What did Brodsky say about the goals of Israel and the United States in Iran?
According to the diplomat, there are no differences in goals between Israel and the United States, although Israeli objectives may be narrower than American ones. Brodsky noted that Israel fully coordinates its actions with the American side, and the goals of Jerusalem, according to him, are included in the list of Washington's goals.
Is a ground operation possible in Iran?
Also, Michael Brodsky did not rule out the option of a ground operation if the negotiations do not yield results. When asked whether Israel could participate in such an operation, Brodsky said that the country does not claim to participate on a large scale, but theoretically does not reject any scenario.
Brodsky also did not agree with the thesis that the Israeli side underestimated the stability of the authorities in Iran. In his opinion, three and a half weeks of war is still too short a period for final conclusions.
He suggested that during the active phase of hostilities, people may not go out into the streets due to shelling, but this does not mean that the situation will not change later. Therefore, the calculation that the local population will rise up against the regime cannot be called unfounded.
The day before, US President Donald Trump said that the US and Iran will jointly control the Strait of Hormuz, which will "soon be opened."
