US President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz will be unblocked very soon and will be jointly controlled by Iran and the US, CNN reported on Monday, March 23.
Trump said talks with Iran were ongoing and he expected the Strait of Hormuz to be opened to shipping very soon. He also said regime change in Iran should be expected.
"The Strait of Hormuz will be opened very soon. I would like to see a major shipping lane under joint control between the US and Iran... It will be joint control. Me and the Ayatollah, whoever the Ayatollah is, whoever the next Ayatollah is," the US President said.
Iran is automatically in the midst of a major regime change, the weekend talks "hold promise for ending the conflict," and the US is dealing with some very reliable people inside the country, Trump said.

On March 23, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that they were not having any negotiations with the United States, and President Donald Trump was trying to buy time.
