Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction Daria Volodina is resigning her parliamentary mandate. This is stated in draft resolution No. 15098, registered in the Rada on March 23, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The draft resolution on the early termination of the powers of MP Volodina was submitted by members of the Rada Committee on Rules of Procedure, Parliamentary Ethics and Administration of Verkhovna Rada’s Work.
"To terminate the powers of the Member of Parliament of Ukraine Daria Volodina, elected in the nationwide multi-mandate constituency, political party "Servant of the People", in connection with her personal statement on the resignation of her parliamentary powers," the document says.
Volodina, 34, was elected to the Rada in the 2019 parliamentary elections from the Servant of the People party (No. 65 on the list).
She worked as a journalist at the First National TV channel in 2012-2014; from 2012 to 2013 she was the executive director of 2Capitales Radio; in 2014-2015 she was a presenter at DJFM Ukraine.
In 2016, Volodina became the founder and owner of the PR Space agency, as well as the owner of Iconic Creations (New York, US); in 2017, she worked as a reputable manager of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Ukraine.
At the time of the 2019 elections, she was a political expert and columnist.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 24, lawyer and teacher Olesia Otradnova took the oath of office and became a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party instead of Dmytro Natalukha. Otradnova is included in the party's electoral list under No. 160.
In March, deputy head of the Servant of the People faction Andrii Motovylovets said that the crisis in the Verkhovna Rada was getting worse: about 40 MPs of the faction wanted to resign.
