Ukraine and Moldova have agreed to cooperate in social security. It was announced by the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is also reported that Ukraine and Moldova have signed an agreement in the field of social security. The agreement was signed on March 19 by the Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Denis Ulyutin and the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Moldova Natalia Plugaru.

It is noted that the document is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and guaranteeing the social rights of citizens of Ukraine and Moldova.

"The agreement covers key types of social security and provides confidence in the future for those citizens of one state who work or live in the other. This will prevent the loss of insurance rights and ensure fair access to social benefits for our people," Uliutin said.

The Minister emphasized that the agreement creates clear and transparent mechanisms for coordinating the social security systems of both countries. In particular, it covers old-age, disability and survivor pensions, temporary disability and maternity benefits, insurance payments for accidents and occupational diseases at work, as well as burial benefits.

It is noted that the conclusion of the agreement will also facilitate labor mobility of citizens and deepen economic cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 10, Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu paid an official visit to Ukraine, thus, according to him, sending a clear signal of solidarity and reaffirmation of commitment to a just and lasting peace and a common future in the EU.

Ukraine, along with Moldova, appealed to international partners for support in conducting additional water testing after the March 7 attack by the aggressor state of russia on the Dniester hydroelectric power station, which caused pollution of the Dniester.
