Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov heads the commission under the President on pardons. This is stated in Decree No. 247 of March 19, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
By this decree, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the new personal composition of the commission under the President on pardons and appointed Kyrylo Budanov as the head of the commission.
Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Mudra and Deputy Head of the Department for Citizenship, Pardons, State Awards – Head of the Department for Pardons of the Presidential Office Dmytro Zhuravlev were appointed as deputy heads of the commission.
Previously, according to Decree No. 377 of August 20, 2021, the commission under the President on pardons was headed by the Head of the Cabinet of the Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Hota.
The Presidential Commission on Pardons is an advisory body that preliminarily considers the petitions of convicts, analyzes the materials, the severity of the crime, the behavior of the convict, and provides recommendations to the President, who makes the final decision.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 2, Zelenskyy appointed the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, as the head of the President's Office.
