With the improvement of the weather conditions, the russians have become more active at the front.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"With the improvement of the weather conditions, we see an increase in the enemy's activity at the front," he wrote.
Syrskyi reported that he held an operational meeting on the state of the engineering equipment of the defense lines.
Among the key tasks are strengthening fortifications, developing anti-drone defense and preparing settlements for defense.
He heard reports from military commanders, the leadership of the State Special Transport Service and the heads of regional military administrations.
To resolve the problematic issues, solutions were identified and specific deadlines for their implementation were set.
Syrskyi also reported that in 2026, the aggressor country of russia plans to recruit another 409,000 soldiers.
This means that the enemy does not give up its intentions and continues to prepare for further aggression against Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early March, Syrskyi said that by the end of 2026, russia planned to recruit more than 400,000 contract soldiers to increase its contingent in Ukraine to 800,000 troops.
On March 13, Syrskyi stated that for the third month in a row, russia has been losing more soldiers on the front in Ukraine than it has managed to recruit into the army.
On March 17, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that in order for the russian army to not grow, Ukraine needs to destroy 40,000-45,000 russian troops every month.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces foiled a strategic offensive operation that the army of the aggressor country, russia, planned to conduct in March.
