The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi warned about the Kremlin's large-scale plans to recruit additional forces and ordered to urgently accelerate the construction of defensive lines. He reported this on Facebook.
According to the general, russia plans to recruit another 409,000 people to the army, which indicates the enemy's intentions to continue the war. Against the background of improving weather conditions, an increase in the activity of the occupiers at the front is already being recorded, which requires Ukraine to concentrate maximum on the engineering equipment of the positions.
"In 2026, russia plans to recruit another 409,000 military personnel. This means one thing - the enemy does not give up its intentions and continues to prepare for further aggression against Ukraine," he said.
During an operational meeting with the military command and the heads of the Regional Military Administrations, the Commander-in-Chief identified priority tasks: strengthening fortifications, developing anti-drone defense, and preparing settlements for defense.
"Not only the stability of the defense, but also the lives of our soldiers depend on the quality and speed of this work," Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized.
He noted that specific deadlines have already been set for resolving problematic issues, because in the conditions of the russian federation's preparation for further aggression, each constructed structure is of crucial importance.
We recall that the largest daily losses of the russians since the beginning of 2026 fell on March 17.
On March 17, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that in order for the army of the aggressor country russia not to increase, Ukraine needs to destroy 40,000-45,000 russian soldiers every month.
