The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had destroyed a plane used by the Iranian leader at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran on the night of March 16.
The Israeli army's press service reported this.
"On Monday night, the IDF carried out a precision strike and destroyed a plane used by the Supreme Leader of the Iranian terrorist regime at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran," the statement said.
The Israeli military said the plane was used by slain Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, as well as other senior officials and Iranian military personnel, to promote military procurement and coordinate operations using both domestic and international flights.
"The destruction of the aircraft disrupts the Iranian regime's leadership's ability to coordinate actions, its efforts to build up military power, and its ability to restore its capabilities. As a result, another strategic asset of the regime was destroyed," the IDF added.
Recall that after the assassination of Ali Khamenei on February 28, his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, became his successor.
At the same time, The New York Times, citing Iranian and Israeli officials, reported that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in US and Israeli strikes on the country, was wounded on the first day of the attacks, February 28.
After that, Iranian state television broadcast a written address from the new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, which was read out by an announcer.
Subsequently, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated that the new leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, was wounded and probably crippled.
