According to the daily monitoring data of the EastFruit project, the current week on the Ukrainian fruit and vegetable market was characterized by a decrease in selling prices for table beet, which was due to the start of active sales of stocks of this root crop from households.
This is stated in the report of the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that the slowdown in sales has already negatively affected prices - since the beginning of last week alone, beets in Ukraine have become cheaper by an average of 15%, and the main deals for the sale of table beet are concluded in the range of UAH 4-9 per kilogram, depending on the quality and volume of the batch.
It is noted that the main reason for the price decrease is the seasonal increase in supply, while additional pressure on the market is also exerted by rather low demand from retail chains and wholesale companies.
Today, table beets in Ukraine are already being sold on average 65% cheaper than in the same period last year.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine has been experiencing a decline in selling prices for carrots for the second week in a row.
