In Ukraine, for the second week in a row, there has been a decrease in selling prices for carrots.
This is stated in a report by the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that the reason for this situation, according to experts, was the rather warm weather, which contributes to the deterioration of the quality of this product in storage, so farmers are trying to sell low-quality carrots as quickly as possible, which, of course, could not but affect the price situation on the market.
Last week, Ukrainian farmers offered carrots for sale on average 20% cheaper than at the end of the week before last, namely: UAH 6-12 per kilogram.

Producers associate the downward price trend in this segment with the increase in the supply of carrots on the market, since those farms that previously refrained from sales are now actively selling off existing volumes.
It is noted that the supply of substandard root vegetables remains quite significant, which also puts pressure on the prices of quality products.
It is noted that today the prices of carrots in Ukraine are on average 72% lower than in the first decade of March 2025.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the growth in potato prices in Ukraine is facilitated by active demand.
