US President Donald Trump in a telephone interview with NBC News stated that sanctions on russian oil will be returned after the crisis in the Middle East is over.

So, when asked by journalists about Trump's decision to temporarily lift some sanctions on russian oil amid rising world prices, the US president replied: "I want to have oil for the world. I want to have oil."

The American leader added that the sanctions imposed during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor country russia in 2022 would "go back as soon as the crisis is over."

At the same time, when asked about criticism from some foreign leaders about the lifting of sanctions, Trump did not answer directly, but directed his anger at the Ukrainian president.

"I’m surprised that Zelenskyy doesn’t want to make a deal. Tell Zelenskyy to make a deal because Putin’s willing to make a deal. Zelenskyy is far more difficult to make a deal with," the US president said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, analysts at the Institute for War Studies believe that even the temporary lifting of US sanctions against the aggressor country russia helped the kremlin avoid the need to make difficult decisions in 2026 and 2027.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump said that the United States does not need Ukraine's help in intercepting Iranian drones in the Middle East.
