Iran may attack Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Nvidia offices in Middle East

Iran has released a new list of potential targets, which includes US technology giants Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, IBM, Oracle and Palantir in Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other locations across West Asia, NDTV Profit reported on Wednesday, March 11.

Iran's state news agency has released a list titled "Iran's New Targets", which lists offices and infrastructure linked to major US technology companies in the Middle East. The publication writes that Iran has expanded the definition of "legitimate targets" as the conflict turns into an "infrastructure war" and may focus on strikes on commercial technology hubs that support the regional digital and military ecosystems.

"Offices of major US tech giants Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, IBM, Oracle and Palantir in Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other locations across West Asia were on high alert after Iran released a new list of potential targets, further heightening concerns about the escalating regional conflict," the report said.

The news agency reported a series of attacks by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on cloud and data resources linked to US tech giants. Over the past week, Iranian drones struck an Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center in Bahrain and attacked two other AWS facilities in the United Arab Emirates, causing fires and outages. Iranian state media said the strikes were aimed at exposing the centers' alleged role in supporting US and Israeli military operations.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 11, the state-owned oil company of Abu Dhabi ADNOC suspended the operation of the Ruwais oil refinery after a fire caused by an Iranian drone strike.

Recall that due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and restrictions on air transport, shipments of rice, meat and coffee did not reach the United Arab Emirates, although supermarket shelves remain full.

On March 11, US President Donald Trump said that he would demand the immediate removal of mines from the Strait of Hormuz if information about their installation by Iran is confirmed.
