Director of the A-95 Consulting Group Serhii Kuyun writes that as of yesterday, March 10, world oil and diesel prices have fallen by 20% and answers the question of when prices will fall in our country.

He announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

He noted that on March 9, prices rose by the same 20%.

That is, in fact, prices simply returned to the level of the day before yesterday, when diesel fuel prices on the London Stock Exchange increased by more than 30% since the beginning of the war in Iran - from USD 750-800 to USD 1,000-1,100 per ton.

This is USD 300 or UAH 13 per liter in hryvnia terms.

Meanwhile, from the beginning of the war until March 10, the price of diesel fuel at gas stations increased by UAH 9.7 per liter, gasoline - by UAH 6 per liter.

"In Poland, diesel has risen by more than UAH 20 per liter (PLN 1.7 per liter), in Germany - by 23 (EUR 0.43 per liter). "The Germans also began to dry up Polish refineries and gas stations due to the difference in prices and shortages," Kuyun added.

As Kuyun noted, world prices are good, but London is far away, and the pulse of the market beats here and now.

It is worth following this indicator.

Secondly, the reaction of business: any hint of problems from the regulators forces us to fold.

Therefore, today the main task of the government is to ensure the most favorable conditions for increasing supplies.

Kuyun explained why there was a failure in supplies in the spring of 2022.

Then state price regulation was in effect and, like today, purchase and wholesale prices were elementary higher than the established retail prices.

Accordingly, they did not transport or transported little in order to sell in bulk or by coupons.

The market was filled with fuel 3 weeks after the abolition of state regulation.

The government is not ready to reduce fuel taxes at the moment, mainly due to obligations to our financial donors, and therefore the best thing he can really do is to facilitate additional supplies in every way.

The problem here is added by unprecedented volatility, when prices jump by 20% every day and this is a huge risk for suppliers, so some have already decided to wait out this storm on shore.

And also, foreign suppliers demand to pay not according to formulaic contracts with a price on the day of shipment, but at a fixed price on prepayment, and this automatically narrows the number of importers, because not everyone has that kind of money and not everyone wants to take such a risk during a "storm".

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has already unblocked imports from some particularly frightened suppliers.

There is no shortage on the market, and wholesale prices are falling, but everything is changing quickly. It is possible that tomorrow, or maybe even today, the price will fly up again, because yesterday they fell due to one statement by Trump.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, retail prices at Ukrainian gas stations over the past week increased from UAH 1.8 to UAH 6.4 depending on the brand of fuel.
