In January, the amount of funds placed by individuals in bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency, according to operational data, increased by 0.8% to a record-breaking UAH 1,409.211 billion.
This is evidenced by data from the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In 2025, the amount of individual deposits in banks increased by 15.4% from UAH 1,212.775 billion.
Individual deposits in banks in hryvnias did not change during the reporting period and amounted to UAH 940.464 billion.
At the same time, the amount of individual foreign currency deposits in hryvnia equivalent in the reporting month increased by 2.3% to UAH 468.748 billion.
Deposits of legal entities (hryvnia and foreign currency) decreased by 4% to UAH 1,685.500 billion during the reporting period.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (monthly average) in the reporting month for legal entities decreased by 0.1 pp to 10.2%, and for individuals increased by 0.2 pp to 10.8%.
The rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities was 0.6%, for the population - 0.9%.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, the volume of population deposits in banks increased by 12.6% from UAH 1,078.346 billion.
In 2023, the volume of population deposits in banks increased by 16.5% from UAH 926.488 billion.
In 2022, household deposits in banks increased by 29.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.
In 2021, household deposits in banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
