The volume of funds placed by individuals on bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency, according to preliminary data, increased by 3.3% to a record UAH 1,399.944 billion in December.
This is evidenced by the data of the National Bank, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In 2025, the volume of household deposits in banks increased by 15.4% to UAH 1,212.775 billion.
Hryvnia deposits of the population in banks during the reporting period increased by 4% to UAH 941.709 billion.
At the same time, the volume of foreign currency deposits of the population in hryvnia equivalent in the reporting month increased by 1.9% to UAH 458.235 billion.
Deposits of legal entities (hryvnia and foreign currency) increased by 12.8% to UAH 1,755.383 billion in the reporting period.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (monthly average) in the reporting month for legal entities remained at 10.3%, for individuals it increased by 0.1 to 10.6%.
The rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities was 0.6%, for individuals - 0.9%.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, the volume of household deposits in banks increased by 12.6% from UAH 1,078.346 billion.
In 2023, the volume of household deposits in banks increased by 16.5% from UAH 926.488 billion
In 2022, household deposits in banks increased by 29.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.
In 2021, household deposits in banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
