In the coming weeks, Ukraine is to receive more than 30 PAC-3 Patriot interceptor missiles at the initiative of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

It was reported by Spiegel.

The Federal Ministry of Defense confirmed the planned delivery of the new package at the request of the publication. It is indicated that European partners were convinced to supply additional PAC-3s, "the number of which is approaching the planned goal."

For security reasons, the spokesman did not want to say how much the new package is and when it is planned to be delivered to Ukraine.

The initiative became known during a meeting before the Munich Security Conference. Pistorius put forward a proposal to partner countries that Germany would provide Ukraine with five PAC-3 missiles from the Bundeswehr's warehouses if other states provided another 30 guided missiles. At the time, some countries, including the Netherlands, unofficially agreed to the delivery, and now it has been confirmed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's office said that during the full-scale invasion, Ukraine received from partners about 600 missiles for the Patriot system, which is significantly less than the number of munitions used during the recent escalation over Iran.

On March 5, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to provide partners with UAV interceptors in exchange for missiles for the MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems, which are highly effective in shooting down russian ballistic missiles.
