During the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received about 600 Patriot missiles from its partners, which is significantly less than the amount of ammunition used during the recent escalation over Iran.

Dmytro Lytvyn, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has reported this to The New York Times.

In just the first few days of the conflict in the Middle East, Israel and its allies have used up more than 800 Patriot missiles. This massive salvo was necessary to repel attacks by thousands of Iranian attack drones and more than 500 ballistic missiles.

The situation is of serious concern to the President's Office and European defense circles, as the intensity of fighting in the Middle East threatens the continued supply of scarce missiles to Ukraine. The European Union has already recognized the existence of a threat to the stable supply of these air defense systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Official Kyiv emphasizes the need to prioritize the assistance, because, according to the authorities, "Ukraine has received only 600 such missiles during the entire war," while the Iranian-Israeli confrontation demonstrates a much higher rate of consumption of ammunition in a matter of days.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on Thursday, March 5, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, that Ukraine has received a request from the United States for support in protecting American targets in the Middle East from attacks by Iranian strike UAVs.

Also, on March 5, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to provide partners with UAV interceptors in exchange for missiles for MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems, which are highly effective in shooting down russian ballistic missiles.

The day before, European Union Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius said, that Ukraine has spent about 700 missiles for Patriot air defense systems in four months. This is more than the US produces in a year.
