Azerbaijan's law enforcement agencies have prevented several terrorist attacks planned by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). It was planned to organize explosions in the Israeli Embassy, a synagogue and an oil pipeline.

According to Azerbaijani publication Minval, the State Security Service of Azerbaijan reported this on Friday, March 6.

The State Security Service reported that it had uncovered and disrupted terrorist plans developed by representatives of the IRGC. Three explosive devices were delivered to the territory of Azerbaijan for their realization.

Azerbaijani security forces prevented the transfer of explosive devices to third parties who planned to use them against strategically important facilities and representatives of religious communities.

The possible targets of the attacks could have been the Baku-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan, an Ashkenazi synagogue and a leader of the mountain Jewish community.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, last Thursday, March 5, at least two Iranian drones attacked the territory of Azerbaijan. One of them hit the airport in the city of Nakhchivan, after which a fire broke out.

Later, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry confirmed the fact of the attack by Iran. The ministry said that two civilians were injured as a result of the UAV strikes.
