The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to oblige the State Border Guard Service to provide the Pension Fund with information on citizens who crossed the state border of Ukraine or entered/exited the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine through the entry/exit control points. This is stated in Bill No. 15005, registered in the Rada on March 5, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that the Pension Fund needs such information to exercise its powers in the field of compulsory state social and pension insurance, provision of subsidies and benefits, various types of social assistance and other payments.

The corresponding amendments are proposed to be made to the Law "On the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine."

In contrast, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement Maksym Buzhanskyi (Servant of the People faction) expressed objections to this government initiative.

"This has already happened. Several years ago, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to get into the pockets of pensioners in the same way and start finding out whether they are in the country by looking into the register of the State Border Guard Service. As if their well-deserved pension obliges them to stay tied up at home. At that time, our committee categorically rejected this draft law with fourteen votes to one. I will do my best to ensure that this bill does not suffer the fate of the previous one. The Pension Fund has nothing to do in the State Border Guard Service Register," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in February, the Ministry of Social Policy said, that the Pension Fund will resume payments to pensioners from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine (TOT) and internally displaced persons (IDPs), who have not filed a statement about not receiving pensions from russia but have undergone physical identification. They need to submit a corresponding application by April 1 to continue receiving their pensions

The Pension Fund explained who has to undergo physical identification every year.
