In February 2026, cars with traditional engines covered almost 66% of the new passenger car market, while last year this figure was 59.2%
This is said in a statement by the UkrAutoprom association, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The report says that gasoline models have once again become the most popular in Ukraine, accounting for 41.1% of new car sales in February, compared to 38.7% last year.
The share of hybrid cars increased from 27.6% to 30.8%.
Diesel cars accounted for 24.7%, up from 20.5% in February 2025.
The share of electric cars fell significantly - from 13.1% to 3.3%.
LPG cars, like last year, accounted for less than 1% of new car sales.
The leading positions by segments were taken by: gasoline cars - Mazda CX5; hybrid cars - Toyota RAV-4; diesel cars - Toyota LC Prado; electric cars - BYD Sea Lion 06 and cars with LPG - Hyundai Tucson.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in January 2026, cars with traditional engines covered about 58% of the market of new passenger cars.
