In January 2026, cars with traditional engines covered about 58% of the new passenger car market.

This is said in a report by the UkrAutoprom association, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The report says that gasoline models have once again become the most popular in Ukraine, accounting for 34% of new car sales in January, compared to 39% last year.

The share of hybrid cars slightly decreased from almost 25% to 23.5%.

Diesel cars also accounted for 23.5%, up from 21% in January 2025.

LPG cars, like last year, accounted for less than 1% of new car sales.

The leading positions by segments were taken by: gasoline cars - HYUNDAI Tucson; hybrid cars - TOYOTA RAV-4; diesel cars - RENAULT Duster; electric cars - BYD Leopard 3 and cars with LPG - HYUNDAI Tucson.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2025, 26,300 new cars with gasoline engines were added to the Ukrainian car fleet, which is 6% less than in 2024.
