Carrot prices continue to fall in Ukraine

This week, the Ukrainian root vegetable market has seen a decline in carrot prices, which was due to the start of active sales of products from storage.

This is stated in a report by the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Today, Ukrainian farmers offer carrots for sale on average 11% cheaper than a week earlier, namely UAH 8-14 per kilogram, depending on the quality and volume of batches.

According to producers, the negative impact on prices is caused by an increase in the supply of medium and low-quality carrots.

By the beginning of spring 2026, the quality of these vegetables in storage has significantly deteriorated, which is forcing farmers to sell off existing stocks.

However, market participants note that owners of high-quality carrots who do not have problems with storage prefer to suspend sales.

It is reported that today carrot prices in Ukraine are on average 64% lower than at the beginning of March 2025.

At the same time, most market players do not rule out further stagnation in this segment, which is associated with rather low trading activity.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the beginning of March 2026, the Ukrainian apple market is demonstrating a noticeable increase in retail prices, which is already being felt by consumers, and UAH 70 per kilogram is no longer the limit.
