Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convinced US President Donald Trump to launch strikes against Iran in a single call to eliminate senior officials of the regime. It was reported by NBC News on Wednesday, March 4.
A senior US official told the outlet that Netanyahu called the US president last Monday to inform him that Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would be meeting with his senior team members. According to him, the Israeli prime minister told Trump and his advisers that the entire group could be killed in one blow as they meet in one place.
"The call, first reported by Axios, was held in the White House Situation Room, the official said, and it marked a defining moment that led to the exact timing of those initial strikes on Iran," the article says.
Netanyahu also said that Iran is considering the possibility of creating nuclear weapons, about the lack of progress in direct talks with the Islamic Republic and the expansion of its ballistic missile program.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 4, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi noted that the agency has not recorded confirmation of Tehran's creation of a nuclear bomb.
