British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has responded to new criticism from Donald Trump by saying he will not join the war in Iran without a legitimate reason or a well-thought-out plan.
It was reported by The Independent.
Trump said the day before that Starmer "is not Winston Churchill" in another criticism of the British prime minister, who did not allow American planes to launch the first strikes on Tehran from British bases.
"What I was not prepared to do on Saturday was for the UK to join a war unless I was satisfied there was a lawful basis and a viable, thought-through plan. That remains my position," Starmer said on March 3.
Initially, the United States was denied the use of British air bases to launch strikes against the Iranian regime, which angered Donald Trump, who said he was "not happy with the UK" because of the amount of support it provided.
On March 2, however, Starmer authorized the United States to use British military bases to destroy Iranian missile depots and launchers.
The prime minister stressed that Britain does not officially join offensive strikes, but continues to defend itself in the region
American bombers are expected to arrive at British bases, including Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford, within a few days.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, that London plans to engage Ukrainian experts to counter Iranian drones in the Persian Gulf region.
Meanwhile, NBC News reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in one call convinced US President Donald Trump to launch strikes against Iran to eliminate high-ranking officials of the regime.
On March 4, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi noted that the agency has not recorded confirmation of Tehran's creation of a nuclear bomb.
Meanwhile, US special envoy Steve Witkoff said that earlier this year, Iranian negotiators boasted that they had enough highly enriched uranium to make 11 nuclear bombs.
