Ukraine wants to attract EUR 5 billion to prepare for the next heating season. This was announced by First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister were tasked with working out the issue of attracting over EUR 5 billion to prepare Ukraine for the next heating season at the next energy "Ramstein," he reported.
Shmyhal noted that at the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), they considered strengthening the resilience of the energy system and preparing Ukraine for the next heating season.
According to him, the Ministry of Energy will focus on the following areas:
assisting companies in restoring equipment and main generation destroyed by the russians;
construction of second-level protection at electricity transit and gas supply facilities;
preparation of equipment reserve: the Ministry of Energy plans to form a threefold stock of equipment;
development of distributed generation: the project for 2026 includes 392 MW, which will be created by Naftogaz, and 92 MW by the GTS Operator;
gas injection into storage facilities, the plan is at least 13 billion cubic meters.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council they approved resilience plans for the next winter for all regions, except Kyiv.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that the total cost of the regional resilience plan approved by the NSDC is UAH 216.32 billion.
