The total cost of the regional resilience plan approved by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) is UAH 216.32 billion. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"At the NSDC meeting, the Comprehensive Resilience Plans for Regions and Large Cities were presented, which were developed by the Government together with the heads of the Regional Military Administrations and cities. The goal is to ensure uninterrupted life of communities in conditions of war and enemy strikes on the energy sector... The total cost of the plan: UAH 216.32 billion," she reported.
Svyrydenko noted that the plan provides for a strategic restructuring of the entire energy system of the state for years to come.
Each plan has 4 areas: protection of critical infrastructure facilities; development of distributed generation; ensuring uninterrupted heat supply; ensuring uninterrupted water supply.
Svyrydenko emphasized that all heads of regions and cities bear personal responsibility for the implementation of the plans.
The implementation of the plans will be ensured through state and local budgets and through the assistance of international partners, in particular through contributions from the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine and additional equipment.
The government is also working with the National Bank of Ukraine and commercial banks to expand financing opportunities. The Cabinet of Ministers is establishing a Coordination Center for the Implementation of Comprehensive Plans. The readiness of the regions will be assessed through the Resilience Index.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the National Security and Defense Council meeting approved resilience plans for next winter for all regions, except Kyiv.
On March 2, Zelenskyy announced that he would convene a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council to approve a defense strategy for next winter.
