The US Department of State urged Americans to immediately leave a number of Middle Eastern countries due to a sharp deterioration in the security situation. The appeal appeared on the evening of March 2 against the backdrop of a new wave of escalation in the region.
Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Mora Namdar reported this on the social network X.
In the post, she recommended that US citizens leave "using available commercial flights" and not delay their decision.
The list of countries that advise leaving includes Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

The appeal appeared against the backdrop of massive strikes by Iran in response to joint actions by the US and Israel. Some of the attacks reportedly targeted American targets in the region. At the same time, some countries on this list, on the contrary, recommended that US citizens stay in shelters or not leave their places of residence unless absolutely necessary.
As a reminder, the US is preparing a new wave of strikes on Iran in the coming days.
