The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to index pensions by 12.1% from March 1. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"From March 1, pensions and insurance payments for millions of Ukrainians will be indexed by 12.1%," she said.
According to Svyrydenko, this increase exceeds the inflation rate over the past year and will support people's income levels in conditions of rising prices.
She added that the government is also continuing the practice of indexing pensions assigned during 2021–2025, which restores fairness for those pensioners whose payments were not previously subject to indexation.
The recalculation will take place automatically and will cover almost all main types of pensions - old-age, military, disability, survivor's, as well as other special pensions for former employees of local governments, civil servants and scientists.
The minimum pension payments for persons with disabilities as a result of the war, participants in hostilities and insurance payments for citizens who suffered from accidents have also been indexed.
Starting from April 1, pensions will be automatically transferred to working pensioners taking into account the updated length of service and/or earnings.
Svyrydenko noted that all payments are provided within the Pension Fund budget.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity Denys Uliutin announced the indexation of pensions by 12.1% from March 1, noting that this is 4% more than the inflation index recorded for the previous year.
In 2025, inflation was 8%.
In 2025, the indexation of pensions was 11.5% with annual inflation in 2024 of 12%.
According to the legislation, pension indexation is carried out annually from March 1 to compensate for price increases and inflation, taking into account salary indicators and the inflation level of the previous year.
