The probable termination of emergency electricity supply from Slovakia will not affect the situation in the unified power system of Ukraine.
Ukrenergo NEC reported this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The message states that the last time Ukraine requested emergency assistance from Slovakia was over a month ago and in a very limited volume.
In general, emergency assistance from the Slovak direction was received by the unified power system of Ukraine quite rarely and these were short-term supplies.
The company emphasized that Ukrenergo NEC has not yet received official documents on the unilateral termination of the agreement on mutual provision of emergency assistance by the Slovak system operator - SEPS.
The electricity transmission system operators of Ukraine and Slovakia - NEC Ukrenergo and SEPS - are full members of ENTSO-E, and therefore the relations between them must fully comply with the established rules of the organization's activities.
It is noted that an agreement has been concluded between NEC Ukrenergo and SEPS on the provision/receipt of emergency assistance from/to the Unified Energy System of Ukraine to/from the Slovak Energy System.
In addition, on February 23, 2026, NEC Ukrenergo received a letter from the Slovak transmission system operator on a review of the payment terms under the current agreement on the supply of emergency assistance. The analysis of the Slovak side's proposal will be carried out as soon as possible.
There is currently no talk of any restrictions on commercial electricity imports from Slovakia. The distributed capacity of interstate intersections is used in accordance with the results of auctions.
