A massive missile attack was reported in the russian city of Belgorod and the surrounding area on the evening of February 22. According to the governor of the Belgorod Oblast, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the strikes damaged energy infrastructure facilities.
He claims that the attack was carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. "The city of Belgorod and the Belgorod District were subjected to a massive missile attack... There is serious damage to the energy infrastructure. There are interruptions in the supply of electricity, water and heat," Gladkov wrote on Telegram.
According to him, a full assessment of the damage will be possible after daylight hours.
Local Telegram channels also write that the Frunzenskaya power substation near the village of Dragunskoye could have been hit. After that, the power supply was cut off in part of the city. There is no official confirmation of this information yet.
Photos of a fire at one of the facilities, where the consequences of the hit are likely to be recorded, appeared on social media.
As a reminder, the Kaleykino oil pumping station caught fire in Tatarstan after the attack.
