The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev (Servant of the People), has criticized the state agency PlayCity, created to replace the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, for issuing a license to UNL, which has offices in Mariupol and Melitopol.
He said this on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I would like to personally congratulate Oleksandr Borniakov and Hennadii Novikov from Mykhailo Fedorov's star team on the successful implementation of the project to distribute licenses to existing monopoly lottery operators, under a formal non-competition, without the admission of foreigners. On Monday, UNL received the license," the MP wrote.
According to him, the PlayCity regulator was not upset by the fact that, contrary to the requirements, UNL did not have lottery points at least in Kalynivka and Pishchanka, Vinnytsia Region, according to the documents submitted for the tender. And these settlements are home to more than 5,000 residents, so lottery points should be mandatory as a condition for admission to the competition.
What's more, PlayCity issued a license to a company that, according to published documents, has its own terminal in Nova Kakhovka, lottery points in the cities of Mariupol, Melitopol, Nova Kakhovka, which are currently occupied.
"No, this is not submission of false information and/or no, this is not collaboration. It doesn't matter if Borniakov and Novikov have to distribute the licenses among their own. We need to stop this organized crime group. I appeal to the Prosecutor General," Danylo Hetmantsev summarized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the end of January, the state agency PlayCity created to replace the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, completed the competition and identified companies that can become official lottery operators under the new rules.
