In 2025, according to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (which Opendatabot analyzed), 3.2 times fewer cars subject to the "luxury tax" were imported to Ukraine than in 2024, namely 504 vehicles.
This is stated in the Opendatabot report, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
This is the lowest figure in the last 5 years.
The report says that 89% of luxury vehicles are Porsche and Mercedes-Benz, and every second such car is a Porsche Taycan.
In total, electric cars account for 65% of all luxury cars taxed.
Every second car on the "luxury" list is a Porsche Taycan: 232 cars, and overall Porsche has become the leader of the luxury segment with additional taxation: cars of this brand account for 64% of the total volume.
Another quarter of the market was taken by Mercedes-Benz with 126 cars.
The remaining premium brands together account for 11% of the market: Audi, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Maserati, etc.
Thus, in contrast to general imports, electric cars dominate the premium segment: 65% of imported luxury cars.
Another 18% are hybrids with the ability to use electricity together with gasoline or diesel.
But purely gasoline cars, the leaders of general imports, were at the bottom of the list with 17%
Diesel accounts for only a symbolic 0.4%.
Almost half of all luxury cars are registered in Kyiv and the region: 236 cars.
Another 52 cars in the Lviv Region, 49 in the Odesa Region and 37 cars in the Dnipropetrovsk Region.
Mostly, luxury segment cars are registered for private individuals 82% or 413 cars, and only 18% of such cars are on the business balance sheet.
It is noted that the ultra-premium segment deserves special attention.
Thus, 21 Rolls-Royces were imported to Ukraine last year, 15 of which are electric Spectre models, which cost about USD 600,000.
There are also 7 Aston Martins and 2 Lamborghinis in the register.
Cars whose cost exceeds UAH 3.2 million and their age is less than 5 years are subject to the "luxury tax".
The amount of tax for one such car is UAH 25,000 per year.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2025, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 26,300 new cars with gasoline engines, which is 6% less than in 2024.
