The next round of talks in a trilateral format – Ukraine, the US, russia has begun in Geneva (Switzerland), this time with security and humanitarian issues on the agenda.
This was announced by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Rustem Umerov on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Umerov thanked the American side for their involvement and consistent work in the negotiation process, as well as Switzerland for organizing and providing the conditions for holding the meetings.

"We have a framework for work agreed upon by the President of Ukraine and a clear mandate. Security and humanitarian issues are on the agenda. We are working constructively, focused and without unnecessary expectations. Our task is to maximally advance those solutions that can bring sustainable peace closer," Umerov emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ukrainian delegation, headed by the Secretary of the NSDC Rustem Umerov, included the head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov, the head of the Servant of the People faction Davyd Arakhamia, the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry Serhii Kyslytsia and the deputy head of the State Security Service Vadym Skibitskyi.
On February 17, US President Donald Trump, on the eve of trilateral talks in Geneva (Switzerland) on the settlement of the russian-Ukrainian war, again called on Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible.
On February 14, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that at present there is no confidence in russia's readiness to truly end the war.
